Between Horizons

Lisa’s first collection of paintings evoke horizons, coastlines, distant hills, mist, water and changing light. Her technique for this collection is built around translucent layers of acrylic washes and subtle transitions of colour to create surfaces that feel luminous and breathable with light emerging from the painting.

‘My idea for this collection was for viewers to sense a landscape without ever seeing a literal one. To create a feeling of remembered places rather than observed places.’

‘ I wanted to give this collection a meditative quality where everything is distilled into mood and sensation - a feeling of standing in nature rather than a depiction of nature.’
